Are White Americans Mad Because President Obama Is Black –

 By Roger Caldwell

I am not here to get into a racial debate, but white Americans and white voters are mad. As a socio-economic racial group they are losing their preeminence in the world economically, and in terms of numbers they are a minority.

In this political cycle, at the present time both leading candidates for president in both parties are Black. This transformation in America is causing white Americans to ask questions about how they will fit in the scheme of things in the future. White Americans are mad, and they want to know how this happened to their race and American politics.

Ironically, when President Bush was in charge and things were a mess, white people were not mad about the confusion. They didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a president. They didn’t get upset, when we invaded a country that posed no threat to us. They didn’t get upset, when we spent 800 billion on an illegal war.

They didn’t get mad; when they found out we were torturing people. They didn’t get upset, when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq. They didn’t get upset, when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans. They didn’t get mad, when they saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed. They didn’t get upset with the worst 8 years of job creations in several decades.

But when the country legally elects a president, who happens to be Black, and he gets bills passed that will help all Americans, white Americans get mad. Instead of helping the president be successful, white folks and white voters are trying to make sure he fails. They disrespect the president by calling him a tar baby, and the Tea Party has rallies where the president is treated worse than a dog.

Many white folks and voters say that they are angry with the president, because he made promises that he could not keep. They also say they are mad with the president, because they are disappointed with his job performance, and his improvements are moving way to slow.

In 2009, white people started to get mad about everything in America, when they realized a Black Man was the president. They begin to get crazy and mad, and they decided to take back their country by creating the Tea Party. In order to be politically correct, most white people say that they are not racist anymore, and race is no longer an issue. But the present Tea Party reminds Blacks of the KKK in the sixties.

In the 2010 midterm election, the Tea Party was financed by the billionaire Koch brothers to the price tag of $100 million dollars. In Florida our flawed governor financed his election with his own money to the price tag of $70 million dollars. Poor whites voted for him and the Republicans around the country, even though they opposed increasing the minimum wage and healthcare reform. White voters and white folks are not making sense with their choices of candidates, because they are voting for candidates who will not improve their conditions.

As the Tea Party and Republicans get ready for the election in 2012, white voters are still asking questions about how Obama slipped by them, and became president. They will never acknowledge the positive policies that the president has implemented, and the improvements to the economy. White voters and Republicans also refuse to acknowledge that health care reform was needed in America.

Most Republicans and most white voters in the Tea party say they don’t like President Obama’s policies, and he is spending too much money and not balancing the budget. Race could or would never be the reason the Republicans and the Tea Party refuse to support the president.
